For over a decade, I worked as an accountant in a global corporation. My life was structured logical and often rushed. However, becoming a mother sparked a desire for something quieter, more tactile and meaningful.

I began paying closer attention to the things that touched my family’s skin: clothes, food, bedding. What I discovered was that most of our sleepwear is poorly made, highly processed and disconnected from its makers.

This realisation planted the seed for Malua.  With no background in fashion or textiles, I had only a deep respect for quality and a desire to create something lasting. I immersed myself in learning everything I could. I partnered with Portuguese manufacturers renowned for their ethical practices and exceptional craftsmanship. I visited flax fields, tested materials myself and even slept in every prototype.
